FANTASY CENTRE

|
The latest Fantasy Centre catalogue (dated April 2008) is now available - and the next one will be issued around mid-June 2008. Snail-mail customers receive the catalogue some 10 days before we add all the unsold fiction items onto our web-site and on to abebooks.com.
Observant friends and customers will note that prices for our stock as listed on abebooks have been uplifted by ten percent from prices quoted on this website, in our catalogues and in the shop itself. This is in an attempt to recoup some of the exorbitant charges now levied by abe. Support your friendly book dealer by buying direct. :-) |

We are sad to report the death of the illustrator John Stewart whose work was best-known during the 1970's and 1980's. We have acquired a number of his original pen and ink illustrations each annotated on the reverse for sale at £20.00 each. The samples above are typical of his style. Many of the "featured" lists on our website do not appear on the abe site. Although we can show only a fraction of the books available in the shop, we are continually increasing the range of popular paperbacks listed on our site (see site directory below). Don't forget you can always e-mail us to ask about specific books, whether or not they are listed on this website. |

We are Ted Ball (left) and Erik Arthur (right). We run Fantasy Centre which is (believe it
or not) the only shop in Europe specialising in science fiction publications of
all eras. Established in 1971 we may even be the oldest surviving specialist SF bookshop in the world :-) Ninety per cent of our trade is in used, out-of-print and rare science fiction, fantasy, and horror. We cover the entire field, including early and recent magazines, hardcover and paperback editions, reference books, and so on. We issue regular catalogues to our customers worldwide. We issue printed catalogues of newly acquired stock by snail mail to customers worldwide. Some 10 days after issue of the paper catalogue remaining fiction stock is added to this web-site.
All catalogued material is available to browse in our shops, where our stock also includes:
and very large stocks of:
We do not trade in comics or videos at any time, and we only rarely have role-playing game books in stock.
| We are book recyclers; we are always ready to offer good prices for desirable titles, whether single volumes or large collections. We will normally be happy to get out of London to anywhere on the UK mainland (and sometimes even to North-West Europe) to view and quote on large collections. |
| Since we are not yet anywhere near the stage of putting lists of all our stock up here for you to browse, please let us have your Wants Lists. This applies as much to mass-market paperbacks as to rare first editions. We will quote you within days of receiving your lists, and ship books all over the world at reasonable rates (i.e. cheaper than the UK Post Office). |
